Chef Win Tun Aung for The Myanmar Times
Part of a profile piece on Win Tun Aung, the Burmese sushi chef at Yangon's Edo Zushi. Win Tun left Myanmar at the age of 17 to avoid persecution stemming from the 1988 student protests, and spent the following 23 years learning to cook astonishing sushi in Japan. He returned to Myanmar in 2013, and is an incredibly interesting person to talk to!

A Burmese entrepreneur gives advice to the three young participants in the ADEPT & US Aid Entrepreneurship program after they have pitched their business to a group of international business-people. The business they have created offers complete birthday packages. From the IIB website:
"Advancement and Development through Entrepreneurship Programs and Training (ADEPT) Global Development Alliance, is a public-private partnership funded by USAID with the IIB (Institute for International Business), in collaboration with major alliance partners Hewlett Packard (HP), the VinaCapital Foundation’s Lotus Impact fund, and Business for Social Responsibility (BSR). An anti-plastic installation by Don Wright of Wired@39 gallery at an event by Thant Myanmar for World Oceans Day in Junction City, the biggest shopping mall in Myanmar. The installation is built entirely from recycled single-use plastic. Thant Myanmar is an EU-supported organisation making real progress in tackling Myanmar's single-use plastic epidemic.
