It takes a full month to move the chariot across Patan to Jawalakhel, where the chariot is finally dismantled. The main chariot is so large and the route is so long that the Nepali army is often called in to help transport it.’

This facilitates better comprehension of the Buddhist philosophy to attain higher levels of study. This exemplary debating tradition supplemented with gestures is said to be exclusive to this monastery, among the several other monasteries of Lhasa. Visitors also attend to witness these debates that are held as per a set schedule, every day in the 'Debating Courtyard' of the monastery.

The scale of construction on the approach by plane into Lhasa is pretty astonishing. Tibetan is one of the fastest growing regions in China, with towns, dams, bridges and tunnels popping up with remarkable speed.
